TO CUT OR NOT TO CUT

So lately, I've been wanting to cut my hair short, because that's what you always want to do when your hair is long, right? If I were to cut it though, the shortest I'd go would be collarbone length. However, since I'm not sure how my hair would react, I'll probably take it one step at a time and not cut it so short, yet (see: photo 3). But then again, since my hair's already quite long at the moment, I'm thinking to keep growing it since I'm pretty much there (see: Zhang Xinyuan and Denni Elias).

Anyways, I'll think about it more.

FROM BOXING DAY TO THE NEW YEAR

Shopped at the city on Boxing day, at DFO the following day and local on the 28th and 29th. Obviously I didn't buy as much as other people, but given my pickiness and unemployed status I really didn't mind that I didn't go all out.

(from left to right)
1. Machine Gun Bullets shirt by Pulp Kitchen / 2. Cardigan from Esprit / 3. Ziggy Jeans / 4. Blouse from Jag / 5. Sandals from Novo / 6. Scarf by Basque

And then my iPad Mini suddenly appeared under the empty Christmas tree after the new year! Throughout 2013, I will undoubtedly need to be more organised and motivated so these two black additions to my life will be used and abused (diary only - I like to take extra care of my technology), especially since I will be a uni student very soon (however I do not know which one as of yet).

LATERS 2012

Self explanatory image, yes? I hope that 2013 will be a good year for everyone. Take care of yourselves and be thankful for the future ahead of us (and that we didn't all die). Since Christmas, I've been going shopping and spending money that I don't have - i.e. I am now in debt - and received my gift from my parents yay! So a post about all that will be coming soon, once my eyes recover from numerous late nights.

UPDATE: GOOD BYE HSC

So long, farewell. Adieu, adieu, adieu!

For the past couple of days I've been chillin like a boss because I am finally freeeeee (for now, hopefully), hence the title. When I stepped out of the hall after my last exam, I honestly didn't know how I felt, and on my train ride home - with a pork roll on my lap, waiting to be eaten - I was thinking of what I'd do when I got home.

So here's my elaborate to-do-list (compiled throughout the year and sometimes even the night before an exam to act as motivation to push through):
1. Read (shout out to The Book Depository for cheap prices and efficient home delivery)
2. Sew - diy like there's no tomorrow
3. Knit/Crochet, in other words be an old lady, however I will never be as quick
4. Shop
5. Clean bedroom, including wardrobe and reorganise
6. Clean studyroom  done-doodly, threw out all my assignments/assessments/exams/books
7. Watch anime: Air (tv series), Air (movie), Studio Ghibli Collection & others
8. Watch dramas
9. Watch movies
10. Delete, rename, reorganise all the files/folders on my laptop
11. Delete, reorganise my iPod
12. Blog
13. etc

I must admit though, one of the first things I did was weep because it was all over - what I like to call 'post-hsc breakdown'. I guess it was just hard to believe that I'll never need to regurgitate english essays or ancient historian quotes, prove congruent and similar triangles, hate on Jeff Koons' untraditional artmaking practice and define the difference between asynchronous and synchronous transmission. So as a celebratory gesture, one of the first things I did was wash the dishes (after what seemed ages) as a simple thank you to my parents for all they've done for me during the hsc period/year. Yes, I've gone through tough times - sometimes even wondering if I'd survive it all and thank God I have - times when I'd doubt myself, or wonder what would happen if my results weren't good enough. So I think that this screen shot from 'Air' is oh so relevant: "my wings hurt", simply meaning that we do have wings, however they may burden us at times.

So with that, I've also come up with a Post HSC Resolution list:
- Be nicer/kinder. e.g. if I don't have anything good to say, i'll just keep it inside.
- Learn how to cook. And no, ramen or microwaved scrambled eggs do not count.
- Watch the news, watch QandA, read the newspaper - know what's happening around me.
- Drive, because I'm seriously such a bad driver right now
- Grow a bonsai, or another sort of plant.
- Exercise!
- Save money, whether or not I'm employed or not
- and much much more....

STUDY BREAK TUNES

Numb/Encore - Linkin Park ft. Jay-Z

I Can't Make You Love Me / Nick Of Time - Justin Vernon

My Delirium - LadyHawke

Chicken Payback - The Bees

Hashtag: study break. Just a few songs that I've been inclined to listen to throughout the past 2-3 weeks whilst on 'study breaks'. A mix of throwbacks, for the laughs, or just easy listening. I must say though, Maths is my favourite subject to study for because: I can listen to music, it's different every time and even if I'm not a math-whiz, I like the fact that I'm able to know immediately if I'm doing it right or not. So uplifting when I do, gotta admit (unlike English). So now, here I am with my Ancient History notes scattered all over the table, attempting to lessen the uncertainty that is the ancient HSC paper.

NEW BEGINNINGS

Yet again, here I am starting a new blog. After many failed attempts at blogging regularly, I'm hoping that this one will last. So with only two HSC exams to go, approximately four months of free time before uni (fingers crossed) and a mind that is forever occupied, I'm grabbing the opportunity to start afresh and anew. Just to be clear, with this blog I'm hoping to post everything from daily musings, inspiration, diy projects, what I'm currently reading, interiors and architecture I'd do anything to live in to what I ate that day, my latest nail art, recent purchases, monthly favourites, a #nowplaying playlist, and everything else in between.

I've always wanted something more personal than tumblr (here and here), but not on a journal/diary level where I release all my emotions (that's what my twitter's for) because that just gets embarrassing when one goes down memory lane. Therefore, Sumo (just called pjrn from now on) will pretty much be a more stable, more relevant day to day blog. Welcome.
