FROM BOXING DAY TO THE NEW YEAR

Shopped at the city on Boxing day, at DFO the following day and local on the 28th and 29th. Obviously I didn't buy as much as other people, but given my pickiness and unemployed status I really didn't mind that I didn't go all out.

(from left to right)
1. Machine Gun Bullets shirt by Pulp Kitchen / 2. Cardigan from Esprit / 3. Ziggy Jeans / 4. Blouse from Jag / 5. Sandals from Novo / 6. Scarf by Basque

And then my iPad Mini suddenly appeared under the empty Christmas tree after the new year! Throughout 2013, I will undoubtedly need to be more organised and motivated so these two black additions to my life will be used and abused (diary only - I like to take extra care of my technology), especially since I will be a uni student very soon (however I do not know which one as of yet).

SVPPLY

I signed up to Svpply (my account: svpply.com/lpajarin) the other day as a way to organise and view expensive stuff I want. Obviously, I'm still not ready to go all out with my colour preferences (check out the colour range of my wants!) - black fo' life! But no, black is such a basic, staple colour that I believe can be mixed and matched with everything, which is important to a boring person like me.

MELBOURNE PHOTO + VIDEO DIARY

Q. How was your trip to Melbourne?
A. Tiring! My legs and feet are so dead right now thanks to non-stop walking around the city in inadequate footwear for three days straight. But nonetheless, Melbourne was refreshing. I personally did not get as much shopping as I wanted, but I don't mind - it's not like money expires or anything. I managed to buy myself a new pair of mustard jeans by Stussy and Nike's Roshe Free Runs in black (can't go wrong with black).

We were pretty much playing Amazing Race for the first part of our trip since my parents flew with Virgin whilst my brother and I flew with Jetstar (cue "Let's fly Jetstaaaaa") - flight was scheduled to leave at the same time and to the same destination, so we challenged each other to see who would win. Virgin was delayed by ten minutes so... Sibling team won!

In other news, flying is such an amazing experience and I always end up getting so vulnerable when I can see the clouds below me. It ironically brings me back to earth - thanking God for everything I have and how small I am in comparison to the world. And then I turn to see my brother watching Gossip Girl on his iPhone.... as he defended himself with "it's really good though!".

Treadmill-ing it the barefoot way

Going to all the states/territories of Australia is on my things-to-do-before-I-die list, so I'm glad to cross off one more. As of now, I've been to Brisbane/Queensland, Perth/Western Australia, Canberra/ACT, Sydney/NSW (obviously) and now Melbourne/Victoria. 5 down, 3 to go.

Thank you Melbourne for treating us well. But I must say, Sydney > Melbourne. Home will always be where the heart is. I look forward to going there again though, definitely. Maybe then, after a longer stay, i'll come to appreciate Melbourne more than what I do now.
