I've been DIY-ing like crazy lately and I'm loving it. My aunties always buy me ridiculously printed fabrics whenever I go overseas that I most likely will not wear out on a daily basis, so instead I use those fabrics to make prototypes and toiles in not so toile tradition to test out patterns and what not (see: photo 1 and 2).
1. The circle skirt is actually, obviously, quite short on me because I was only experimenting and also because that was all the fabric left, trying to make the skirt have less pleats - so really, in the end, it would make more sense to call it a semi circle skirt - in my attempt to make my own version from AA.
2. Two shirts that I hacked the sleeves off to make muscle tanks. They're just a couple of my brothers' old shirts he said he wouldn't wear anymore = win! I'm wondering if I should crop them, or leave them as they are?
3. A vest toile/prototype that I made by following a McCalls that is actually meant to make a vintage jacket piece with pockets and sleeves. But, I skipped the sleeves part because it's summer anyway and I wanted to save effort for better, more suitable fabric. I'm thinking of buying bright yellow cotton to channel raincoat vibes. Suggestions?
