ASYMMETRIC WRAP SKIRT

Here's my take on the wrap / geometric / tulip / asymmetric skirt (if anyone knows what it's actually called, please tell me asap because I've been searching everywhere for the right name). Of course, I wanted to make it in black, but since it would be my first time making one of these, I wanted to test it out first with some spare fabric. I quite like the floral-ity of it, though. I really put a lot of effort into this skirt because I measured everything and even put some pink lining on the inside - as opposed to my totally raw, sew cut sew attitude of the past - which is probably why it took me close to 7 hours to complete it.

"IT'S FIXED"

I finished reading The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom in (less than) half a day. In a nutshell, I thought it was an amazing book that will test whether you have a heart or not. I honestly, seriously, really think that this is one of those books that you should read before you die. So, in order to not reveal any spoilers, I will not say anymore -
JUST SERIOUSLY, READ IT!

"Most things are forgotten over time. Even war itself, the life-and-death struggle people went through, is now like something from the distant past. We're so caught up in out everyday lives that events of the past, like ancient stars that have burned out, are no longer in orbit around our minds. There are just too many things we have to think about every day, too many new things we have to learn. New styles, new information, new terminology... But still, no matter how much time passes, no matter what takes place in the interim, there are some things we can never assign to oblivion, memories we can never rub away. They remain with us forever, like a touchstone."
- pg 98

"Silence, I discover, is something you can actually hear."
- pg 138

"The strength I'm looking for isn't the kind where you win or lose. I'm not after a wall that'll repel power coming from outside. What I want is the kind of strength to be able to absorb that outside power, to stand up to it. The strength to quietly endure things - unfairness, misfortune, sadness, mistakes, misunderstandings."
- pg 317

+ points if you know what book these quotes are from!
These are just a few of my favourite quotes that I feel I can relate to from a book I just finished reading last night.

The Fashion Club has very recently just opened their online store so I quickly jumped on as soon as I saw Lulu instagram a photo of the home page. It is founded by Lulu Chang and Heidi Leung - Lulu whose blog I've been following for quite a while now. I'm excited to see what else they'll put out.
